Sabrina will officially be moving out on her own this weekend. No more college dorms in which one can barely move, no more parking permits, and no more mom telling her to keep her room picked up when she's at home. My girl is finally at the point in her life I never thought she'd be… not because I didn't have confidence in her; but because when she was my little thumb-sucking Bean, she would always say to me, "Mom, I'm nevuh going to gwo up and move out becuth I awayth want to thtay home and wiv wif you. Okay Mom?"

What a bittersweet day – the day each child in turn goes out into the world on their own. It’s what we raised them to do, but oh! how much more quiet the house becomes. When the last one left it took me months to get used to quiet!

Bittersweet indeed! It’s an amazing thing to share their journey through independence – how can something make you so proud, yet so sad, all at the same time?! Best wishes to Sabrina on this new stage in life!

I know all too well that ambiguous feeling of wanting them to succeed but wanting to hold them back just a little longer. I miss them terribly but am so proud of what they’ve accomplished.
All the best for Sabrina at this new stage in her life!

Moving away will be as sad for her as it is for you. She would never tell you that, though. I wish her joy in finding her wings!

Sweet! Sabrina is going to do great! How can she not with a loving mom like you behind her! I can’t imagine the joy, pride and the little sadness you feel. Keep us posted, because I am looking forward to hearing about her internship.

It is so sad when they move out. we don’t want to think of them all grown up. My twins moved to NY 2 years apart and we are from a little town in WV, scary, but they went to college in Cleveland, OH. Hold on to the last one for as long as you can.

OH, gosh, I am just a year behind on this and already starting to feel it…Good luck to your girl, I am sure she will take the world by storm 🙂

I know how you feel. Our daughter will most likely be leaving the nest sometime this year…
Our son is moving out of the nest in about 3weeks. I don’t even want to think what it will be like yet. It will be an adjustment for sure. Some good, some not so good.
    Good luck to Sabrina!
