My Joonie began 6th grade today, and she is very happy to finally be there. She's always been treated like the baby in the house (for some reason), so this has given her a much-needed boost in making others see that she's truly an independent, free-spirited tween.
Besides, would a baby start their own flip-flop business? That's what she and a friend of hers did this summer, calling themselves "The Glitz Girlz."
They sold a few pairs and then retired.
Maybe her 6th grade sewing class will inspire her to start a new business next summer. Either way, I'm very proud of my baby girl.
Oops.
Okay, I'm very proud of my very mature Sophie.

It seems that Sophie has inherited some of your creative talent Paulette! Those flip flops were an awesome idea.
She is a lovely young lady and I too can see a change in her over the summer.
Good luck to you this year Sophie. I hope it’s an enjoyable one.

They change so much in middle school. My son is a 7th grader this year and it amazes me how he changes each year. Sophie is looking so grown up in her latest pictures.

I have an 11-year-old (Sophia) who will be starting middle school on September 6! Your Sophie had a short vacation, as I remember your post about the last day of 5th grade was the same day as my daughter’s last day of 5th grade. Good luck to Sophie in middle school!

Congrats to Sophia on starting middle school. Hope you have a great year.
Don’t you love the tween and teen age years Paulette???

Sophie will always be your baby at heart, even as she is turning into a pretty demoiselle, following in her sisters’ tracks.

Best wishes for a great new school year! It’s a shame they have to start so early though. My boys start Tuesday. I remember when I was in school, we didn’t start until after Labor Day and finished Before Memorial Day.

Sophie is so pretty and gets prettier every day.
She makes me wish my husband and I could have had kids.
