Desperate Times

As exciting as the snow was when it first fell earlier in December, the ice has left us all slipping and sliding and wishing for either the Morton's Fairy to arrive or a fresh snowfall to cover it all up. One of Mike's and Sophie's favorite things to do is to go sledding, but the weather hasn't cooperated. So today they struck out for the driveway to go icing instead.

(Nevermind the filthy vehicles…)

I bet that curb felt good…

If Mike acts like this on our driveway, imagine what he would do sliding down Everest.

Ice tp 2

If they can make it back to the top, they'll go for round 2…

Ice tp 1

And they're off!

Ice tp 7

Yes, Mike, you are the champion icer in the family.

It's been three hours since I last saw them last. I imagine they're on the Iowa border about now.

Ice tp 10

Which means I don't have to play bored games tonight.

SO funny, Paulette. Hilarious post. I hate ice by the way – and that curb comment almost made me lose my waffle for laughter. lol
Best birthday wishes to you, dear Friend.

OMG! LOVE the pictures. I cracked up thinking that Mike and Sophie might be seen icing down I-29 (or is it 80?) and I was in IA for Christmas and got my fill of snow while there.
Ok, not actually the snow but the unbelievable COLD weather!!!
Happy birthday to another Capricorn… mine is next week.

Love the colors in your blog header–awesome wintry A&E! πŸ˜€
Icing FTW! They look like they’re having such a grand time–what an awesome dad Mike must be–and you’re a great mom, too, Paulette. After all, you give them Starbucks. πŸ˜‰
Ever since you blogged about Dixit, it returns to my memory now and again. Have I found a Bored Game in which I’m interested?

I missed yesterday’s post because of DR’s appts. I love seeing Mike and Sophie ‘play’ together. They are so special. It looks as though they really enjoyed it! Loved seeing these pics, too. πŸ™‚ Cathryn
