Today was the first day of the last year of high school for Sabrina… She and her bestie Katie are seniors this year, which means they can sit at whichever lunch table they want to and no one can tell them to move.
They've paid their transcript fees, ordered their class t-shirts and are ready to blow this popsicle stand in about 10 months from now.
Today was also the first day of the last year of elementary school for Sophie…
She's got 2 large boxes of Kleenex, a great big bottle of Elmer's glue, and 24 Crayola markers at the ready.
Not to mention new tennis shoes…
AND a new lunch box that looks like a really cool purse…
(Little does she know, it's loaded with healthy food and a water bottle. I believe she's hoping for Oreos as the main entree and a Frappuccino for her drink.)
And let's not forget the most important thing of all for a brand new year of learning: freshly-painted nails!

Oh my… I was thinking the same thing… school starts on August 11? WOW. Our schools start after Labor Day.
Do they get excessive time off somewhere else in the school year?

Geez! So early for the first day of school???? Wow! My son starts back Sept 2, which is earlier than usual. Well, happy first day of school — it’s amazing that your girls are on their last years of high school and elementary school. Love Sophie’s lunch bag! And nails! 😀

WOW – school already? Ben would scream if he read this post. LOL Our schools don’t start until the day after Labor Day but then we get out end of June – all evens out I guess. Lovely pictures. Ah, senior year – seems like lightyears away – such fun!!

All my children are out of school, but hubby is a teacher so there will be a first day of school for each year in this family until he retires! Love reading your blog…beautiful family!
